a.k.a. "Stitch & Bitch"

Saturdays
12pm–Midnight – Join us for a peaceful Saturday afternoon, no television just good conversation and reading material!
3pm–5pm - Bring a craft project and sit around the big table for our Chequers Craft Afternoons – also known as “Stitch & Bitch”.
Evenings – Delicious Cheeseboards available to order using locally sourced cheeses to complement the ales & wines.

Sundays
12pm–10.30pm – Sunday papers, a glass of real ale and a home baked baguette… who could ask for more?
Winner Takes All draw every Sunday night at 9pm(ish) followed by complimentary Supper.

Dogs & Kids Both are very welcome at The Chequers though we would ask if your younger children would be out by 7pm. Older Children sat enjoying conversation & a soft drink with their parents are welcome until 9pm. We will ask anyone with unruly children to take them home as we have enough on with our own! Sociable dogs are welcome at The Chequers though please be aware they MUST be on a lead at ALL TIMES as we have our own pub dog, a Golden Retriever called Oscar and two dominant pub cats, Sam & Thomas who rule the roost. If your dog is not a lover of cats he or she may be better at home! Drinking water & doggie treats available at all times!

Take Away Night Every Friday at The Chequers Inn is Take Away Night. Home made Pizzas from only £4 with extra topping at 50p each! If something more exotic is your fancy then why not order a take away Indian or Chinese Meal from one of our superb local restaurants? Menus are available at the bar, we will even order it for you. Places set, candles lit, plates & cutlery provided… all you have to do is enjoy your food and let us worry about the pots! We always have some homemade sweet delights available at the bar and a fabulous Italian Coffee machine to serve you a fresh cappuccino to finish off!

Chequers Craft Afternoons Saturday afternoons are Crafty at The Chequers… perfect for the ladies whilst the men sample the ales… though of course being crafty is not exclusively a female domain! Our “Stitch & Bitch” sessions start from about 3pm and go on until they finish! We sit around a big old table, have a drink, pick up projects that haven’t seen the light of day for years and have the very occasional gossip! Crafts include crocheting, knitting, cross stitch, upholstery, making bunting, dress making and practically anything else you can think of to do! We especially welcome anyone with a skill to share with the rest of us! Winter will see the real fire lit and lots of good red wine as well as Christmas Crafts.
